We are putting the word out for our first open meeting regarding a
Statewide Beach Clean-Up Project 
July 22 nd to August 7 th .

In lieu of a Tribal Journeys Canoe Journey we are asking the canoe families to join in a coordinated and
multi-layered effort to clean the beaches of our reservations and the beaches of our various neighbors.

 

It is time to begin a shared environmental project for our tribes and for teaching this responsibility to our
children.  Our ancestors kept our beaches and the world around them pristine on a daily basis and made
a lifetime commitment to that and a commitment to pass that responsibility to the next seven generations.

We want to enlarge our core group and explore some of your ideas and begin to organize our working
structure. We will also need to make more contacts with the canoe community and look for support from

our neighbors and allies.
